Swissport restructuring

As part of a wide-ranging review of its current structure, Swissport has announced that it has placed some of its staff at risk of redundancy. The posts at risk are across all Swissport's bases in the United Kingdom. Whilst numbers at individual stations are reasonably low, the overall total is up to 300. The majority of these are at supervisory level but some passenger and baggage handling staff are included. Swissport employs around 2700 staff in this country.
The company is currently consulting with the trade unions and will work with them and the staff affected to minimise uncertainty. The restructuring will take advantage of changes in Swissport's working practices and be fit for the challenges currently faced by the aviation industry.
This restructuring does not affect Swissport Cargo.
